Employment Law Background

Robert Fitzpatrick provides external workplace investigations for clients requiring independent and thorough investigative expertise.  Mr. Fitzpatrick learned employment law on the defense side and later focused on representing individuals who were victims of harassment, discrimination, retaliation and wage and hour violations.  This litigation background provides critical foundational knowledge for Mr. Fitzpatrick’s workplace investigations. 

Investigative Background

Mr. Fitzpatrick’s investigative experience began decades ago and continues today.  With formal investigation training in the military, Mr. Fitzpatrick conducted mishap investigations, wrote reports and conclusions of investigations, was a member of serious incident investigation boards, and made recommendations to military commanders based on his investigative findings. As a lawyer, Mr. Fitzpatrick continued to develop his investigative expertise helping employers determine facts surrounding complaints of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other types of alleged workplace misconduct. Today, Mr. Fitzpatrick stays current on legal and investigative developments and techniques with continuing education through his membership in the Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI) and the California Association of Licensed Investigators (CALI).
